The Minister without Portfolio in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, responsible for coordinating activities and measures in the area of diaspora relations, Đorđe Milićević, and the Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in Zürich, Mihajlo Šaulić, attended the Third Economic Forum of the Diaspora and the Homeland in Brunen on November 11, organized by the Serbian Businessmen’s Association in Switzerland. The event confirmed the shared commitment to connecting Serbian entrepreneurs from the diaspora with the homeland.
Minister Milićević emphasized the importance of cooperation between Serbia and the diaspora and highlighted the potential in sectors such as digitalization, IT, agriculture, and renewable energy, which could motivate young professionals to return to the Republic of Serbia. He stressed that reforms in the Republic of Serbia are creating a favorable business environment and investment opportunities, especially in cooperation with the Republic of Srpska.
The forum included panels on finance, digitalization, and tourism, with a special focus on the Women Entrepreneurs Caravan. Branislava Simanić, Director of Entrepreneurship at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, highlighted the importance of focusing more on Serbia’s investment potential and the “Return Point” program for returnees.
