The Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Zurich hosted a celebratory reception in the Representation Hall of the Vogtei Herrliberg in Herliberg on the occasion of the Statehood Day of the Republic of Serbia on February 15, 2024.
Over 250 guests attended the ceremony, including representatives of the diplomatic and consular corps, Swiss institutions, numerous members of the Serbian community, representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church, cultural and artistic associations, business associations, students, writers, colleagues from the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Bern, and other prominent personalities.
The anthems of the Republic of Serbia and the Swiss Confederation were sung, and the cultural and artistic ensemble "Abrašević" presented a blend of Serbian folk dances, lending the ceremony a special cultural significance.
The Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in Zurich, Mihajlo Šaulić, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Switzerland, Goran Bradić, addressed the guests, followed by a video address by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić.
Throughout the event, short presentations related to the world exhibition "EXPO 2027," which will be held in Belgrade, were broadcast on the video stream, highlighting the importance of this event for Serbia and its development potential.
The reception elicited numerous positive comments from the guests, which once again confirmed the importance of maintaining bilateral relations and preserving Serbia's cultural and national identity in the diaspora.
