20th September 2021 The President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, has attended today the opening of the factory for the production of electrical lighting of the Swiss company “Regent Lighting! In Svilajnac and announced investment in the infrastructure of this region which was, a he said, important for its population, but also for investors. President Vučić told the gathered citizens that the state had invested in the facilities and infrastructure in that town EUR 16 mil. and announced investments in the amount of about EUR 25 mil. into the project of the Svilajnac bypass, with two bridges, across the Resava and Morava rivers.
“We are not working and constructing roads, bridges and bypasses for us, but for those who will succeed us. I am immensely thankful because you understood that only by hard labor changes can be made, with joint forces we can do so many thing and only in such manner Serbia may progress”, said President Vučić adding that Serbia needed more factories such as “Regent Lighting”, which employ between 100 and 300 people. He emphasized that Serbia needed to continue to encourage dual education because it had good results and stated that we had support of Swiss, German and Austrian partners in it.
The new factory, of approximately 6,500 square meters, was constructed within the first stage of construction of the facilities of “Regent Lighting” company, whereas the plan is to construct in the second stage another hall with additional 6,000 square meters.
The company CEO, Christoph Platzer expressed satisfaction with opening of the new factory in Svilajnac.
