His Eminence the Swiss Bishop Mr. Andrej today visited the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Zurich, where he was received by the Consul General, Mihajlo Šaulić and his associates. During the cordial and constructive meeting, numerous issues of importance for the Serbian community in Switzerland were discussed.

Special attention is paid to the planning of joint activities and projects that will contribute to the improvement of ties with the Serbian people in the diaspora. It was pointed out that the preservation of the cultural and spiritual identity of the Serbian community is of key importance, as well as that it is necessary to provide support in the preservation of language, traditions and customs, especially among the younger generations.

The Consul General expressed his gratitude to His Eminence for the efforts of the Serbian Orthodox Church so far in gathering and preserving the unity of the Serbian community. Also, the importance of continuous dialogue and cooperation between church and state institutions was emphasized, which will further strengthen relations with the Serbian diaspora.

At the end of the meeting, it was agreed that in the coming period, concrete initiatives will be worked on that will contribute to strengthening unity and mutual support among Serbs in Switzerland.
