Celebrating the Statehood Day of the Republic of Serbia in Zurich

The Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Zurich organized a formal reception on the occasion of the Statehood Day of the Republic of Serbia, February 15, 2024, in the Vogtei Herrliberg representative hall in Herliberg.

The ceremony was attended by over 250 guests, among whom were representatives of the diplomatic-consular corps, Swiss institutions, as well as numerous members of the Serbian community, representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church, cultural and artistic societies, associations of businessmen, students, writers, colleagues from the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Bern and other prominent personalities.

The anthems of the Republic of Serbia and the Swiss Confederation were sung, and the cultural and artistic ensemble "Abrašević" presented a mix of Serbian folk dances, which gave the ceremony a special cultural significance.

The guests were addressed by the Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in Zurich, Mihajlo Šaulić, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Switzerland, Goran Bradić, after which the video address of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, was broadcast.

During the entire event, short presentations related to the specialized world exhibition "EXPO 2027", which will be held in Belgrade, were broadcast on the video beam, highlighting the importance of this event for Serbia and its development potential.

The reception elicited numerous positive comments from the guests, which once again confirmed the importance of nurturing bilateral relations and preserving the Serbian cultural and national identity in the diaspora.
